VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Time commitments vary according to volunteer availability,

ranging from a one-time commitment, up to 5 hours weekly.

Flexible schedules are welcome.

 

• Prayer Team:  If you are interested in receiving text or email messages from the center regarding immediate prayer needs for clients 2x monthly, email info@pregoptions.org

• Church Liaisons: Work with center and home church in building a positive relationship with church and congregation by means of keeping church updated with our programs, goals, and educating them on the issue of life affirming choices we promote as a viable choice for women. Also, raising awareness of the financial support needed to run the center and our programs and promoting different fundraising opportunities the church body can participate in.

• Event Volunteer: Assist in one of our fundraising events. Or plan your own fundraising event to raise funds for Options for Women.  Voices for Life, Walk for Life, Concerts, Garage Sales, Car Washes, Diaper Drives, Baby Bottle Fundraiser, etc. If you like teamwork and planning events, come join us!

• Banquet Team: Join our fabulous Banquet team each year. We plan and put on an annual fundraising banquet each fall. These events take many months to plan and execute. If you like things like wedding planning, decorating, database management, you will love working on this event! Join our fun team!

• Office Assistant: Assists with office tasks such as filing, making copies, assembling client packets, newsletter preparation, mailings, stocking resources, keep all data base files updated with current information such as phone numbers, addresses, e-mail, etc.

• Cleaning: Come into the center weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly for deeper cleaning—thorough vacuuming, cleaning bathroom, dusting, windows, etc.

• Mailings:  Assist with labeling, stuffing, and sealing envelopes, etc.

• Writer: Assists in writing and editing for both or either - website blog posts and the quarterly newsletters.

• Outdoor Help: Assist with care of our building needs in lawncare, landscaping, snow removal, etc.

• Maintenance: Would be knowledgeable in general building maintenance, and handy man projects.

• Computer Technician: This person would assist with computer glitches, repairs and set up for the center staff.  

• Research: This person would be available to do research on various projects, and topical subject matter relating to the center’s services. An example of this would be researching current STD stats, abortion stats, pregnancy rate stats, etc. Requires internet access and enjoying topic based research online.

• Baby Boutique: Clean, sort and organize clothing, furnishings and other donated items.

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES THAT REQUIRE TRAINING

• Client Advocate: Male & Female: Trained advocates meet with clients and provide peer counseling regarding pregnancy, abortion and alternatives, prenatal development, emotional and spiritual support and Earn While You Learn on a weekly basis. Required background check plus 25 hours of training including both video and on-the-job training.

• Nursing: We utilize volunteer nurses to provide pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and nurse education to clients. Required background check plus 25 hours of training including both video and on-the-job training.

• Community Outreach: Represent Options for Women at information tables at community events, conferences, seminars, churches, etc.  Requires 15 hours of video and on-the-job training to have a clear understanding of our organizational vision.
